2-14-02 Washington, DC The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC will host an exhibition of of outdoor sculpture on its expansive roof terrace. The exhibition is being sponsored by the Washington Sculptors Group (washingtonsculptors.org) and Sculptors Inc. from Baltimore (sculptorsinc.org). Both are regional volunteer organizations of working sculptors which have been in existence for about 20 years. Washington Sculptors Group has about 300 members mostly from DC, Maryland and Virginia, and Sculptors Inc. is a closely knit group of about 100 from the Baltimore area. Both groups are dedicated to increased awareness and understanding of sculpture by organizing frequent exhibitions and public programs. The exhibition on the roof terrace will be selected from slides and proposals by Olga Viso, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington. The Call for Entries will be sent out about March 1 with a deadline of April 15. Artists may each submit up to three entries.
