New Site Hosting 3D Scans of Sculpture
Appropriately called SculptureScans.com - it allows you to sell your sculpture over and over again, with no foundry charges. If you've made high-quality scans of your sculpture, and you're not afraid of sending them out into the world, get in touch.
You can also download a free sample scan (of a sea shell) from the site - just click the banner on top. Andrew Werby 3dScanHub.com |

Re: New Site Hosting 3D Scans of Sculpture
Hi Andrew,
It sounds interesting. Do you mean sell digital copyright of the works? |

Re: New Site Hosting 3D Scans of Sculpture
The way I've got it set up now is that when you purchase the scan, you agree to a licensing contract (EULA), which lets you produce copies of the work. It doesn't transfer the copyright to you - for instance, you're not allowed to resell the scan. But you can pretty much do whatever you want with it short of that. It's obviously not for artists who want to keep tight control over the way their art is produced or presented, but it is a new and different way for people to market their 3D art over the internet.

Andrew, I think that would be good niche market if with good marketing.
Fans can prints out the digital work with 3D printer or other tool. |

Yes, that was the idea. Have you got any good ideas on how to market it?

Re: New Site Hosting 3D Scans of Sculpture
Hi Andrew, I have no experience of marketing similar product before.
Maybe try to target the niche market who needs and is more likely buy these digital sculptures. I think it's a trend considering the rapid development of 3D scanning and RP tech. People will have the necessary tools to print though it may takes a while. |
