My major was in sculpture back in the early 80's, but I haven't done much with it since then except for some occasional scene shop stuff. My interest has sparked now because of 3d printing and I'm hoping to see if others are using this new medium for serious work. Thanks for letting me join. It took awhile for my membership to allow a post!

Welcome. There are people here who have some expertise in 3D printing. Try using the search uinction at the top of the page to find threads about it. You can also post specific questions and get advice or commiseration that way.
