Being Superbowl Sunday, this one might make for a good halftime tune:

Ho yeah! Morning Motorhead is better than coffee. Thanks Craig.
This is another one of my brothers efforts from the nineties when he was recording with John Zorn. He's (little bro) the guitarist, of course...wait for the solo.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ObxF6mWEqE Jazzcore, baby. Last edited by evaldart : 02-09-2010 at 10:35 AM. |

Those last two could use more descriptive titles, like:
" Brain Toccata for Sticking a Screwdriver in an Electrical Socket" or "Head in a Blender Ear-Bender" |

Nice one Craig...check this one. And while we're on the subject of the gallop; Even through the cheese of eighties metal, sometimes technique and flash actually blow you away.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQRDPOd88gA

Re: song du jour
I watched that Lorena McKennit video, and I felt like I was being waterboarded with corn syrup.
So, just to balance my feelings towards the fairer sex, I had to watch THIS again- I was at this concert- and she is amazing- completely disproving the teenage boy mantra that girls cant rock. Because Anita not only rocks, she shreds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Qgp...eature=related And to complement her guitar work, my favorite drummer- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A81GxOi3NZU or here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta8sm...eature=related Anyone who has ever experienced Janet Weiss drumming, live, has a new found respect for how air currents affect body cavities- cause the room shakes.

Re: song du jour
Being a drummer myself, after that build-up, I sat through the Janet Weiss video waiting for something to happen, but it was all rather basic stuff.(Unless something really happened after the 5 minute mark whan I gave up). If you want to see what a drummer can do, check out Steve Smith, a 2 minute clip here for example, has more beats than the 5 mins of Janet, and much more variety, aside from not having large breasts bouncing around:

Ahh, that one brings back some memories... I saw them in 79, 80, 82, 84.. Loved every show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5jaRipA5_M They don't make em like that anymore.. I wish we had camcorders and recording stuff back then, but we could barely get equipment.. Our old garage metal band was called Bloody Nun and our best jam was "Pope on a rope". The neighbors hated us. ![]() |

Re: song du jour
I watched that Steve Smith video, and he certainly has the chops, but he doesnt go anywhere- no soul. Then I googled him- JOURNEY? that explains it.
I had the great good fortune to once see Billy Cobham play live once, with Mahavishnu. Now THERE was a drummer. Also saw the amazing Calvin Weston play with Ornette once.
