Signing the wax/ numbering
I am planning to start a project and I would like to limit the number of editions to 500.
What tool do you typically use to sign your wax? Do you also insert a date or just the 1/500? Your suggestions would be highly appreciated. |

Re: Signing the wax/ numbering
I tend to sign date and number mine. I use a pointed wax carving tool that just looks like a large blunt round needle. Which tool you would use would depend on the size of the piece. But for me a something shaped like a blunt needle works best. Warming it also helps it plough through the wax.

Re: Signing the wax/ numbering
Thanks Mandrid,
The tool I tried may have been to sharp. It always leaves an edge that is difficult to get rid of afterwards without spoiling the signature. |
