High Tech Visual Reference

Just thought I'd share a little high tech technique I'm using to previsualize my next foam sculpture. Since I created the original on my computer, in 3DS MAX, I imported the virtual sculpture to a design program I use, called SketchUp. I then created a block in SketchUp, the same size as the block of foam I'll be carving. I put the virtual sculpture inside the block and made the block transparent, so I can see exactly what to remove to get the form I want. I then printed it out in several views, to use as reference while I carve. When it's done, it should look something like this.
