Spraying something on hot does suggest a ferric nitrate application, taking into account the final colour. But looks like she kept it to a minimum judging by the finished piece.

It's the "praying" on it part that must be the secret ;-)

Keeping it from darkening up over the subsequent days has always been my challenge. Have even taken to rubbing brass powder into highlights sometimes to lighten them back up. Frustrated enough that I do almost all ceramic sculpture these days.

I will consider using Artworks in future and will ask for Aiya!

Ive found that when using cold liver, if you dont swill it off thoroughly in clean water it will continue to darken. Dry with cold air (do not apply heat) and wax as soon as you can also stops it darkening.

The legs are a little heavy for my likes, great effort in any case.
