I am relatively new to doing sculptures on commission so I'm here to learn from seasoned sculptors. Where to find 'Call to Artist' list. Pitfalls to avoid....if that's even possible haha. And to network with like minded people.

Hey Doug,
Nice to "meet" you. This site is full of resources that will interest you. Poke around the various pages and read to find tons of conversations and tips. Also, for more targeted info, use the Search function at the top of the page. Lots of our sculptors do public and private commissions. The commissions voted on by a committee are probably the most tricky. I have a small one now that will be funded by the Mass. Cultural Council. The back and forth about contract issues, installation, etc. is more time consuming than building the sculpture! But it's the bottom line that matters, right?
Anyway, do some digging and you will find good people and mucho info.
