31st Annual Sculpture Celebration in Lenoir NC September 10th. Sculptors from all over the U.S. bring up to 3 sculptures for a day-long competition with judge Elizabeth ("Lee") Kelley, curator of public art in Chicago. $11,000 in cash awards. Sculptors are invited to bring up to 3 sculptures of any medium to compete for up to $11,000 in cash awards and purchases. Setup Sept. 9; event Sept. 10. No commission on sales but art must remain onsite through 4pm Saturday. On-site crane provided free of charge for Friday setup 10am-7pm. Free welcome dinner & breakfast for participating sculptors. Early registration discounts available; late registration available on site Friday Sept. 9 (10am-7pm) & Saturday Sept. 10 (7am-8:30am) morning of competition. Annual event brings sculptors, buyers and general public (about 3,000) for this one-day event held at the beautiful 20-acre lakeside garden Broyhill Walking Park.
