Deadline for Entries May 26, 2006 Arts Alliance Mountain Empires Art in Public Places Outdoor Sculpture Competition 2006 The cities of Bristol, TN/VA are accepting submissions from sculptors for our first Outdoor Sculpture Competition in 2006. Up to six works will be selected for a one-year exhibition in Downtown Bristol, TN/VA. |

Take the .org off of the end of that link and it will work.
Entry Guidelines: Artists must be 18 years of age or older and residing in the USA. Work must be Original and executed within the past three years. Three-dimensional. Suitable for outdoor installation and able to be structurally secured to a concrete pad. Capable of withstanding adverse weather conditions and high traffic areas, and safe for children. Suitable for family viewing. Works deemed unsafe, overly fragile, or otherwise unsuitable will not be considered for the exhibition. Size Limitations: No work can exceed ten feet in height or weigh more than 500 pounds. For specifications of each site location, consult our website. Artist responsibilities (if work is chosen): Artist must be present during installation of sculpture(s) and during the Reception and Walking Tour. Artist must supply a biography and information about his or her chosen sculptures. Artist must also allow use of his or her likeness and biographical information for publicity purposes by the Arts Alliance Mountain Empire as it relates to the Art in Public Places Project. Transportation arrangements are primarily the responsibility of the artist. Deadline for entries: Postmarked no later than May 26, 2006 Installation: August 30, 2006 Reception & walking tour: August 31, 2006 A $500 stipend will be awarded to each of the artists chosen.
