Vendor Discounts through the ISC

Hello! I'm Lauren (as you can probably tell from my posting name), and I'm a new Membership Associate here at the International Sculpture Center.

I'm currently working on member benefits. Specifically, I'm compiling a list of vendors that might be willing to offer discounts to ISC members. We'd like this benefit to be as useful to our members as possible, so I would love to hear your suggestions. Are there vendors (anyone who offers sculptor's supplies, tools, services, etc.) that you frequently use and that you would like to see added to this list? Any tips on their prefered method of contact or links to their websites would be useful as well.

Thank you for your suggestions, and I look forward to working with all of you!

Praxair is a national welding/ metal fabrication supply store.
Steel/ metal distributors
Atlas metals and any others.
Possibly a tool distributor, that caries metal fabrication tools, grinders, cutting/ forming tools.

Grainger
McMaster-Carr

Some places to start
thanks

Re: Vendor Discounts through the ISC

Welcome to the Community, Lauren!

Considering the many foundries that advertise in Sculpture Magazine,
I'm sure many ISC members would love to recieve a discount from them.

Aside from that, I've always noticed that the major tool companies (Makita, Bosch, Miluakee, Dewalt, etc.) never seem to list "sculptor/artist" in their questionaires gauging tool usage, and I'd venture to guess that a good portion of their customers fit that description-- Whether they are aware of that fact is another question, but I think they would welcome the additional defined customer base via ISC membership as much as we would welcome the discount.

Good point; I've noticed this myself when buying supplies for my own work.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, and feel free to keeping adding to the list! I hope to be checking the board often.

Thanks again for your comments, everyone!

How about shipping companies? Do you use them on a regular basis, and which ones?
