Re: 21st International Sculpture Conference to be held in October

Anyone else going? I'm a big fan of Jaume Plensa and wanted to hear him speak, so I dusted off some of the old frequent flier miles and got myself a trip to Grand Rapids. Hotels are cheap there. What's keeping you? Hope to see you there.

Heck I will be only couple of miles away remodeling my daughters bathroom. I wonder what would happen if I stopped by for a quick visit.

Re: 21st International Sculpture Conference to be held in October

Conference was great. I liked the Art Slams where people gave new work and we all got to see it and critique it in informal sessions. Jaume Plensa's presentation was terrific, I got to meet Steinunn Thoranrinsdottir and a few other sculpture rock stars (and a lot of normal sculptors, too). The Meijer Sculpture Park was great and the last night hundreds of local art students turned out for a movable feast of sculpture exhibits all over downtown Grand Rapids. btw, if the new Fine Art Museum in GR is phenomenal.
