w/ Bronzes -OK to sell plaster casts of same?

Hi Folks-

I'm trying to find out whether it is an acceptable practice when selling an
art bronze limited edition to Also sell hand- painted plaster (hydrostone) versions of the same piece of sculpture with an entirely different look?

Is this done? The purists would probably say just sell the bronzes only.
The plaster versions would Not look like the bronzes -more painterly w/colors and these would be in a limited edition as well. They would
certainly look way different and therefore not "compete" with the bronzes.

How do professional sculptors handle this? Know of anyone who does this?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You - James M

I think that as long as there is "Full Disclosure" then you can do any thing. You might say that there will be an edition of 8 bronzes, and 100 plaster casts. If you did a few AP's then disclose those quantities also.

Yeh i'd agree with the above, if you have sold any bronzes already then might not be a good idea for that particular piece, but otherwise just write it in the provenance that there are plaster additions also. If it looks entirely different then maybe it wouldn't be neccessary
