marble sculpture bases

Hello All,
This may seem like a quick an easy question, but I'm having no luck on the internet. I've been trying to find marble sculpture bases for a marble bust (not a column - just the small decrative plinth some sit on). I'm not sure if there is a specific term for this piece (we were thinking sophel or sopal - something like that) but I thought maybe someone would know either the term, a reputable fabricator and/or dealer, or both.

Thanks for your time,
Spie

Re: marble sculpture bases

I've bought a couple of black marble bases from Montoya in west palm beach Fla. Different shapes and sizes.

Re: marble sculpture bases

I make black absolute granite sculpture bases, A base should be simple and elegant but not detract focus away from the sculpture.
We can make a base any size you like, hollow on the inside with or without a hole for bolting down the piece. Granite does not scratch like marble and is one of the most durable decorative stones.
My e-mail is aestheticsconsortium@yahoo.com if anyone has questions regarding granite bases.
