There is no LIKE button here as in Face book--but it is the best assessment of a low cast sentiment for sensationalism being fulfilled.

Grommet, what's the root of your rift with the word timeless? I don't get it. Isn't it a word widely accepted for excellence that perhaps cannot be easily explained by mere... words?

Why the torment? Religion ,Art ,Sofas cant you see that you are all right! 'It' doesnt matter ....there is no correct interpretation. DH has succeeded . why did he succeed? Why didn't we? Do you despise him because in the final analysis he decided that 'the end justifies the means' Isnt the crazy shit that surrounds discusssions about his work art in itself ? Way cool . he will laugh to his grave. Dont suffer. enjoy the show! You were lucky enough to see it in your lifetime.

Re: What is Damien Hirst really up to?

Anyone actually listen to Simon schama's take on Hirst's pastoral representations, the "for the love of god?" skull and their relations to Rembrandt, dutch "Still Deaths" Francis Bacon's boxed popes, and 19th century british fascination with cows, horses and sheep?

It's kind of funny: a sculpture.net topic about Hirst, 50-some-odd comments and none about his work, except the errant "saw that/ didn't like it."
