Way over my head.
I was able to help out with math homework thru about 9th grade- after that, when it got into graphing calculators, I was out of my depth.

Ries made it farther than I did. I saw this video earlier. I enjoyed seeing his process & how he would go back & correct himself for inclusive clarity. Interesting.

Yeah, that kids a freak. My kids in 6th grade...I can still keep my head above water with the algebra but I'm definitely sinking fast...I should be able to survive geometry...but I'll be dirt-napping long before the calculus kicks in. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll take the art route like I did:D.

Do those prodigies ever pan-out though...like the musicians and such? Is there such a thing as "peaking" too early?. (a helluva lot better than not peaking at all, I suppose).

I never really understood algebra, geometry, calculus (calculus...never went there!)etc. Couldn't really help my kids with their math in school.
Never understood why I couldn't get with it...recently saw one of those "Great Courses" brochures. "Quantum Mechanics" was on sale so I thought this is my last chance to really try to understand this world ( me and Plank and Einstein) so I ordered the DVDs and dutifully watched and listened to this Prof. get all excited about Bozons and Interferometers, etc. I watched every lesson for a month and now I don't ever have to do that again. And don't ask me anything...
