Celestial welding....

Much to the curiousity of passing traffic, I stood in the late afternoon sun outside my studio wearing my welding helmet. What they did not know was that I was enjoying a perfect view of the transit of Venus. My auto helmet turned to shade 13 gave me a clear view of the sun.
A revelation and I highly recommend watching the next solar event with a welding helmet on.
Just clean the lens first, as at first it appeared that the sky was full of flying saucers.

If you live in the Pacific it may be visable again in 2012.
