Hi just wondering if anyone has seen examples of sculptures interacting with phones?

For example by bluetooth or wifi, or with phones as controllers of sculpture - for example this http://www.tr:rolleyes:endcatching.com/2008/01/megaphone---m-1.html (http://www.trendcatching.com/2008/01/megaphone---m-1.html)

or using QR tags like these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crPg_eyXPTs

Not quite interacting, but found a use at the Getty Museum http://www.getty.edu/art/installation_highlights/previews/outdoor_sculpture.html

Guide by Cell You can also listen to the audio tour from your own phone, now or during your visit to the Getty Center. Download the cell phone tour guide (PDF, 194 KB), which shows the codes for each sculpture on the audio tour. Call (310) 499-9236 and, at the prompt, enter the code for the sculpture that interests you. You can also pick up the cell phone tour guide free at the Museum Information Desk.

Still searching. This seems to be a new frontier.

Here is an interesting site giving all sorts of stats about the energy activities of a house http://bwired.nl/ available on phones at http://mobile.bwired.nl/

A sculpture, or for that matter any artwork, could make available information on how many people have viewed or approached it, the energy used in making it, its net energy output if it is kinetic.

Using your phone you could change the colour or movement of a piece, rotate it, display text on the surface, change lighting, and all sorts of things we haven't thought of yet.

Let me know of any developments that you find.
