Hi,
Since your post is an outright advertisement, it is likely that it will be removed.
The forum is not meant to act as an outlet for businesses to advertise their product(s), but rather a place for discussion of ideas and art.
Feel free to remain in the spirit of discussion, but advertisements are not allowed.
Thanks.

Beyond blatant promotion, this is the new technology section and it is an interesting site (http://www.opetrol.com/). There's no prices posted anywhere, merely claims of affordability and the Oxy-Gasoline torch is something I've never heard of before.

Obseq, you're correct in calling this thread blatant advertisement which is out of line with the intentions of this forum......however..in a way I value this information.
Perhaps a special forum section could be created to play host to such threads, or not. Of course this forum isn't broken so there is no real need to fix it but a landfill like zone would perhaps help to keep the pollution from spilling into the existing sections. Just a thought and suggestion.

When info is included in the text of answers, that is helpful. But, we do not need a section for advertisement. :D

Hi, Aaron,
You are not alone in your view. The problem, however, is allowing free advertising for entities/individuals who offer no contribution to the community outside of tossing a free ad into the fray with a product and/or service of a possibly dubious reputation-- We have no real way of knowing.
As we've seen over the years, many companies are very aggressive in their approach, (even after warnings) and have spammed us multiple times.
.
.
Case in point:
The person touting, "we can do it for less" willfully ignored the warning given to the original poster, and decided it was fine for them to shill their product here, (and in a duplicate post made in another thread).
Not only does this waste server space, but also eats up time in managing the doubtless deluge of posts that will follow.
In the end, it is Russ' call, and he may decide that he will allow ads.
Until then, the general policy is to disallow them altogether.

We all are the best testimonials. Ask if you want to know whats good...and rave if you've made a great purchase (or condemn a shitty one). These kinds of reflections/responses regarding products are by far the most valuable. Tried and true...or tried and blue.
