Hi, I just returned from being an "artist in residence" at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WY.
This was the first time that I've been an AIR and I just wanted to pass along what a wonderful experience it was.
Just think, you don't know anyone, you're away from family, friends and pets,
no distractions, just go to the art studio every day and create.
Both the students, who I had to interract with and the staff in the art dept. were great. I was given 24 hr. access to the studios and they bent over backwards to accommodate me in any way they could.
I worked all day almost every day for the 30 days. Someone said to me, "did you do any sightseeing?" and I said "no, being in the art studio WITHOUT distractions is a gift from heaven!"
If I get the opportunity (and I'm going to look for them) to be an AIR somewhere in the future I'd take it in a heartbeat!
Have a nice day,
Jeff
