hello everyone. i've nearly finished a piece and in giving thought to how i want it mounted i was thinking of putting it on a lucite base. usually i use stone or wood if i need a base at all. but this piece would best be served with a clear base.
so i did a search on the net and there seems to be quite a few companies out there. i haven't figured the exact dimensions, but i'm thinking an oval or circle that has a diameter near 12 inches and about 1-2 inches in thickness, maybe more. another thought is a stepped square structure, but i'm not sure if a structure such as this would need to be a single piece or two pieces that were bonded. if they need to be bonded, how is that done with clear acrylic in such a way that the bonding element doesn't show?
has anyone worked with this stuff? do you know a reliable company? thanx a lot.
