well ,I just could not stand it when my chain saw repai rman was telling me about casting some brass in a welded steel pipe sitting on a bed of coke.I caped a small section of pipe, and in the gas forge she went, full of varous scraps of bronze. It was not long before the metal was ready to pour,so I poured it in my swage block.I was amazed at the surface, and I also found a great way to heat my big block this winter.I dumped my scrap bucket and started picking out the silicon bronze.I found some steel forms, came from snapper lawn mowers fab shop, and I poured several really cool forms.I think I will weld them up,tap the bronze and have a really interesting sculpture.Makes me want to pull my furnace out of the barn, she has been on ice for awhile because I have been fabricating so much.My roots are in foundry and I am "jonsen " to get back to it...IA
