My wife and I dropped in on the Fredrick Meijer Gardens & sculpture park in Michigan,a nice visit sence we did not know about it before are trip. The sculpture garden is massive, and most of the works have the "Ritz Carlton" display. They have the worlds largest bronze horse, which on a sence of scale is impressive.Ther were only two stone works, lots of bronzes, but also a lot of direct metal works.

No David Smith, was the big brain pain. Here was Rodin,Moore,Pomedoro,Nevelson,Rickey, segal,Ciaro,C huily,Butterfield, and so on,but no David Smith.I know the garden is mostly personal collection, but you can not have a walk through sculpture world of are time without a smith. They were in the process of installing a ciaro sculpture, but the display was so powerful that it alsmost overpowerd a simple sculpture.Over all though a major thumbs up on a first class sculpture garden, that apears to be growing into a mamouth instalation of some pretty heavy hitters. M3 I say the Pomodoro was one of my favorite sculptures in the garden, much different in person.............................
