Looking for a manual plasma pattern tracing machine.
For my needs, CNC is over-kill and the magnetic-motorized silhouette tracers are too limited. I can't seem to find any 1:1 pattern cutting machines, so I'm building one. But I would like to have a example to refer too, if anyone knows of a site.

Don't know if this will be of any help, but at the Poor Man's Publication web site, you can find a set of plans for a pantograph (http://metals.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://metalwebnews.com/poorman/poorman%2Dmetal.html) you might be able to adapt.
Or, go by the dimensions shown here (http://www.ies.co.jp/math/java/geo/panta/panta.html) and create your own.
You got me thinking about it.
Good luck and let us know how you do.

I think your on the right track. A simple modified pantograph might be adequate. This design path is much less complicated than what I originally had planned.
Thanks.
