Come and see my work!

Welcome Johan.
I'd love to see your site, but this old computer I use at the studio is too slow. Because the dust generated while I work is really not good for the computer, I won't be bringing the better computer here. but I wll check your site from home later.
Anyway, it's good to "meet" you.

This work and technique is fastinating...
Welcome aboard...
I believe I see an electric cord and switch leading to some of your works...
Are these lighted from within?

I tried your site, but saw nothing after a couple of minutes. I know my connection is a bit slow, so I apologize. Hopefully I'll be able to try later. Welcome to the forum!
Hi again Johan. Your work is curvy and fun. Nice colors and textures. The references to famous people in combination with scorpions and such puts things in perspective, doesn't it.
Looks like you have lots of fun with your work. Thanks for the images.

There's one more Belgian here - at least that I know of - and that's "Anne (BXL)".

I got in easily tonight, Johan. Don't know why last night was so slow. This time, things loaded almost immediately, and there's a lot of good work. Fabrications in sheet metal, mostly, with glass inserts, it looks like.
And, as JAZ said, all pieces show a sense of humor. Congratulations!

How do you color the lead? I took the reddish pieces to be copper, and the "silverish" ones to be at least silver plate, if not thin solid silver. I also had thought you might use glass inserts for the variously colored special features such as eyes.
Now I wonder if you use enamel for the brightly colored areas, but the “copper” and “silver” pieces look to have transparent pigment. Is this an oil paint over the lead?

The eyes are from glass.
The lead i color with a patina copper color.
Not paint but patina.

Johan,
I hope that you are being very careful to protect yourself from the hazards of working with lead, especially the dust from cutting and grinding. We all use stuff that can be harmful. It came home to me when one of theguys from the industrial supply place where I get soem of my consumables, etc. told me that I should be wearing the thick kind of dust masks all the time. I had been wearing them only when doing really dusty stuff. Well, the first day I wore one all day it was brown by the time I was ready to go home. that was just from the ambient dirt of working. Nasty.
Now I use them all the time. (Fortunately I work alone, so who cares what it looks like!)
Be good to your body.
