Hi all,
Pinball annie here.
Been a while. Posted a few months back about wondering whether grad school was for me, working at a small art school with foundry access...well, I just got let go from that job, so the decision has sort of been made for me, and likely for the best (even the timing is okay). That access and the community here has been great, but when the job wears you out so much you don't want to do art, that's a problem. Surely there's others out there with a similar tale.
BUT! Happened to coincide with an opportunity to move into a shared studio space (free for a while!) with a lot of foot traffic, still have foundry rental access, and at least a few weeks before I need to start panicking about rent and such. So into the studio I go, full speed ahead for at least a few weeks, and then to put the portfolio together and just do it, see where I go.
I love this resource for reasons such as this one, self-indulgent though it may be, to know there's others out there fighting with the same issues.
Postings to come from the next fertile weeks...did I mention it is pod season out here in Seattle? Ripe for the picking and the burning out!
Ah, the term "burn out". Sigh.
